24 Hour Plays Return

We're getting the team back together

After 10 glorious years (and many hundreds of pounds raised) at Hyde Festival Theatre, the original 24 Hour Plays bowed out in September 2020. What had started off as a one-off fundraiser quickly became an annual fixture led by Peter Wright and his trusty team, with many actors, directors and playwrights stepping up for the challenge of creating a new short play within the space of 24 hours. A small band can even say they took part in all 10 iterations.

The new team at the Festival Theatre recently resurrected the concept as The Play in A Day with a number of tweaks to the format and now we are are happy to report that the original 24 Hour Plays team are getting back together at Romiley Little Theatre's The Wharf to resurrect the theatrical marathon under the title 24 Hour Plays (Remixed)

There'll be familiar faces, with writers Rob Johnston, Jayne Marshall and Nick Brelsford all on board plus many of the actors and directors who have participated previously. Due to the smaller confines of The Wharf just 3 plays will be written with 12 actors being split in to 3 newly created theatre companies for the event.

The fun will start on the evening of Friday 16 June, with all the plays being presented the following evening (Saturday 17 June) from 8pm!
